Pattern diet

I put myself on a pattern diet. I don't really have a huge collection of patterns but I have a pile on my desk of patterns that "I wanted to sew next" and then something else came up. So I joined the Pattern stash contest on PR in hopes of encouraging me not to buy any new patterns and use the ones I have. Sounds like a good idea right? The contest runs fromMarch 1 untill April 30. I am allowing myself 1 emergency pattern purchase a month during that time. This is mostly because I have 2 pregnant friends and several birthdays in that time period.

Sewing news: I made a t-shirt from Jalie 2566 but I need to finish finish the neck and hems. I want to use the coverstitch on my serger to do it but I was having some trouble getting it to work right. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I''ll have to look at the online video again.

I also sarted Burda 8216 in a light weight denim. ( Pattern stash) I think this is going to replace the brown rayon skirt in SWAP. It would be perfect for teaching summer school because of the big pockets. I always seem to have a bunch of" stuff "I'm holding for my students.

I should probably join the pattern stash contest - I have way more patterns that what I could ever use!

I'm anxious to see your Jalie t-shirt, very cute pattern.

I think for me a pattern diet would be harder to do than a food diet. I also have way too many patterns each begging to be the next one sewn. Good luck on the pattern stash contest!
